Privacy: What This Site Collects, Plainly

No cookies, no advertising, no cross-site tracking, and no consent banner because nothing is stored. Here is the complete list of what this site does with data.

Short answer

This site sets no cookies. Two analytics services measure it, both in cookieless mode: Cloudflare Web Analytics, and Google Analytics 4 configured so that it stores nothing on your device and cannot identify you. The only thing stored in your browser is a local-storage key called re-theme, which remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme. There are no accounts, no comments and no newsletter.

Key points

  • No cookies set by this site, and none set by anything on it.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics: aggregate page views, referrers and countries. No cookies, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking.
  • Google Analytics 4 in cookieless mode: it runs with storage denied, so it reports aggregate figures and writes nothing to your device.
  • One local-storage key, re-theme, for the light or dark theme. Nothing else is stored.
  • No advertising, no social embeds, no data sold or shared.
  • The site’s host also keeps ordinary request logs, as any web host does.

What this site actually does

Being specific is more useful than being reassuring, so here is the complete list.

Everything this site does with data, as of 4 October 2026
WhatStatusDetail
CookiesNoneSet by neither us nor anything on the page. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
AnalyticsTwo services, both cookielessCloudflare Web Analytics: page views, referrer and country, cookieless by design. Google Analytics 4: loaded with consent defaults set to denied, which means no cookies, no device storage and no cross-site identification; Google receives aggregate measurement pings only.

Advertising

If display advertising is ever enabled, it would be served by a third-party network such as Google AdSense, which may set its own cookies and use identifiers to select and measure advertising. That would be disclosed on this page on the day it goes live, the effective date above would change, and the key points above would stop saying “none”.

If that happens, you would be able to opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, and readers in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland would be shown a consent prompt before any personalised advertising was used. No consent mechanism is asserted here as running, because none is.

Analytics

Two services run, both configured to measure without identifying anyone.

Cloudflare Web Analytics, provided by the company that also hosts the site: page views, referrers and countries. Cookieless by design.

Google Analytics 4, which reports aggregate traffic figures. It is loaded with its storage permission set to denied, so it does not write cookies, does not store anything on your device, does not use advertising identifiers and does not link your visits across other websites. This is why the site shows no consent banner: there is nothing being stored that would need your permission.

We do not sell or share traffic data with anyone. If either service is ever reconfigured to store data on your device, this page changes first and a consent request appears before anything is stored.

Your choices

  • Theme. Clear your browser’s site data for this domain and the re-theme key is gone. The site then follows your system’s light or dark preference.
  • Scripts. Nothing here is gated behind JavaScript. Disable it entirely and every page still reads.
  • Email. Write to privacy@reengine.net to ask what we hold about you, to have it deleted, or to ask a question about this policy.
Does reengine.net use cookies?

No. Neither this site nor the two analytics services on it set cookies, because Google Analytics is configured with storage denied. There is nothing to consent to, which is why there is no banner. The one thing stored in your browser is a local-storage key holding your colour-theme choice.

Do you sell or share my data?

No. There is no data to sell: no accounts, no analytics, no advertising network and no third-party scripts. Nothing about your visit is collected by us.

Do you log my IP address?

Not us. The site is served by Cloudflare, which keeps ordinary request logs, IP address, user agent and timestamp, for security and abuse prevention, under its own retention policy. We do not read those logs to profile readers.

What happens to an email I send?

It sits in a mailbox and is used to reply to you. It is not added to a list, not published and not shared. Ask us to delete it and we will.

Will this policy change?

If advertising or analytics is ever added, this page is updated before it goes live and the effective date at the top changes. Because that date is visible, a stale policy would be a visible error rather than a quiet one.

Changes, contact and effective date

This policy is effective from 4 October 2026. If anything above stops being true, this page changes on the same day and the effective date moves with it. Because that date is visible, a stale policy is a visible error rather than a quiet one.
